Fresh from the Hospital

Each time I get baby fever (which is a lot these days, with our little "caboose" approaching 16 months...), it's always nice (for Robert, especially) when I have a newborn in the studio. :) And THIS little man... oh, that wrinkly skin, that umbilical cord (or "umbrella cord" that I just heard it called by our 4 year old), that brand new baby smell... mmmm.... makes me wish for another one... until I realized that you guys are so great to let me borrow yours for a few moments and trust me with documenting these very first moments that we'll never get back. This little guy will even look completely different TOMORROW... so thanks, Brian and Lorraine - it was so sweet to have you guys in for your newborn portrait session. Even when he tee-tee'd on us. :) Happens every time and it makes for good memories. See you at 3 months!!

Oh, and Robert, don't worry -- the fever passed -- it's all ok. ;)

Family Portraits

Family portraits.... ah, they seem like so much hassle to get everyone together and looking all pretty, don't they? And dad dreads having to do it because he hates having his picture taken.... well, when you come here, leave all that stress at home -- I promise to never make anyone tuck in their shirt and sit all stiff and yucky. We have FUN! Even these dads shown below will tell you the experience is painless and they get to laugh and play with their families. And you know that the holiday season is coming up and what better gift to get for your friends and family than a portrait of your family (that you KNOW Grandma's been asking for, anyway...) So.... bring the whole family and your sense of humor and get ready to have a relaxed and fun portrait session with your family.

We are booking family portrait sessions right now into October and have some September availability left. Any sessions done before November 1st can guarantee portraits in time for Christmas, so get it on the calendar really soon!

We would also like to extend an invitation to our families who would like to join us in Aspen, Colorado over the weekend of October 16th. I'll be there teaching a class to Aspen High School photography students on how to maximize creativity and to see with a more artistic eye, and we are booking sessions that weekend for families who would like to have portraits done in front of one of THE most beautiful settings. So, let us know if you're interested in coming up for the weekend or for the day and we'll get you scheduled.

Ashton Grant, Recording Artist

This is Ashton Grant, a singing sensation who records in LA, and an all around funny, nice girl (not to mention drop-dead gorgeous). She chose us to photograph her for her upcoming media promotion and we've had such a great time getting to know and work with Ashton and her very sweet family. This is a behind-the-scenes photo of this set...

And another image I got from the set...

Ooooh, these are my favorites. We went for an urban feel in a downtown area.

And this one is MY favorite from the downtown set. You can see more of Ashton and hear her incredible music at http://www.myspace.com/ashtongrant

Award-Winning Baby

This is Parker. No, he's not a baby girl, as those incredible eyelashes might say otherwise, but one of the cutest and sweetest baby boys I've ever seen! And big congratulations to Parker and his parents, Jessica and Mickey (some of our Wynne clients), for Parker's big 2nd Place Win in an international portrait competition last month with over 75,000 entries. Thanks, Jessica and Mickey, for coming in and CONGRATULATIONS to you all! :)

Celebrities Among Us

Teresa Lee, celebrity photographer... I REALLY love the sound of that -- especially when the people are really fun and cool like Hillary Grant...

It's not very often that we get celebrities around here, but when we do, "wow!!!" It's been so fun to work with Hillary Grant and her sister, Ashton Grant (who you'll meet soon)! Hillary is an award-winning choreographer and professional dancer, who has worked on the Disney Channel, CBS, and look for her on upcoming episodes of TLC's "Rock the Reception" (which Robert and I are so completely addicted to - and yes, honey, you know you watch it, too!). She is the in-house choreographer and dance director for the Arts & Entertainment Studio in Colorado Springs (where I just got brought on as their official in-house photographer!!!!!!). And Hillary is just as sweet and kind as she is beautiful.

I had so much fun photographing Hillary on this promotion shoot. And ladies, wouldn't you just DIE for this hair and those eyes?!

Here is a link to see Hillary in action: http://www.youtube.com/user/freckles257

Tori Green

This fun and spunky senior is Tori Green. We had such a good time and I've never seen such a good sport, as she had ants crawling all over her during the outdoor portion of this session and not ONCE did she flinch! (which is better than I can say for the TLP crew!) Tori, I had such a great time working with you and meeting your mom and brother!! Best of luck to you in what I hope is an incredible senior year -- thanks for choosing us to do your senior portraits!

Sophia & Dan

Sophia & Dan -- a very nice couple whose wedding was at a neat little place called Sulphur Springs Ranch in Southern Colorado. Thanks, guys, for having us share in your special day!!

Hailey

Meet Hailey Martin. This stylish and cool high school senior came in with lots of trust, as I had her bring her prom dress to do something wicked awesome and way out of the ordinary. With this scenery as our backyard, I wanted to take these high-fashion girls and plop them down in the middle of nature. And I LOVE it! Thanks, Hailey, for being such a great sport - she has helped set the trend for this group of seniors who are falling in love with this idea! More supermodels to come....

Behind the Scenes with Nikki Longbella

This is something we thought would be fun -- to show some behind the scenes images for those who might be interested and for those photographers just starting out who request the "how" I do things. One image is me setting up the shot and the other is an image from the set.
This is Nikki Longbella, a very sweet and beautiful young woman, whose senior portraits we did and had so much fun! More of Nikki's senior photos to come!
As you can see, this image was taken in full mid-day sun - behind the scenes photo compliments of Robert.

Kayla from Boston

Ok, so first of all, I'll start out and just admit it -- I know, I know... I said I'd NEVER blog. Yes, I did say, "never," and I know the old saying, so I'll just eat those words now and say that here I am... I'm going to blog. And it's going to be so much fun because I have so many great clients that I want you all to meet and know about. And I'll start with a very special and incredible gal who wins the prize for traveling the most distance from Boston to Colorado Springs to have her senior portraits done... meet the beautiful, funny, talented - and a bit intimidating, might I add ;) - Kayla Hoyer from Boston. What a fun session this was!!!
